What’s in My Bag
This page will keep track of the clubs that I currently have in my bag. I’ll update it when there are changes so you can keep track of what I am currently swinging poorly. Updated 6/5/2009.
Ball: After being put on a launch monitor and finding out that the Callaway Tour ix and i were increasing my side spin so much that it could not be measured I have been using the Bridgestone e6+ that they fitted me with. After only a few good hits on the ball I can say that the ball probably travels farther but I still need to hit it more to know for sure.
Grips: Winn PCi Hybrid Blue/Black. Recently had all of my grips changed to these after trying out a few new options. I love the tackiness and since I moved up to a midsize grip I feel much more comfortable.
Nike Sumo 5000 9.5 Degree Driver: Has an Aldila VS Proto by You 65- S shaft. After swinging a ton of drivers I settled on this one because it tames my natural slice and while I don’t get all of the distance I did from some other clubs, I only average about 225 of the tee, I am usually closer to the fairway when hitting this one.
King Cobra Baffler DWS Hybrids: I don’t carry any fairway woods and since I have gotten these I don’t really feel like I am missing anything. I have a 3 and a 4 which have a 20 degree and 23 degree loft respectively and both have the same shaft as my driver only in a regular flex.
Titleist AP1 Irons (5-PW): Steel shafted with regular flex, best of the many iron sets that I was able to demo. I love the feel that they have along with the forgiveness that the small cavity back offers. Since they were purchased barely used from my pro I was able to get them at a great deal.
Fourteen MT-28 V3 Gap Wedge (52/08) & Sandwedge (56/12): I have finally replaced my crappy Maxfli sandwedge and the AP1 Gap Wedge that came with my set! The construction is second to none and the grooves on the club face produce more spin than any other club I have tried even the spin milled Vokey wedges. If you haven’t tried out Fourteen Clubs you need to, they are amazing – http://www.fourteengolf.com.
Odyssey White Hot XG #7 Putter: Used a friends and I really liked it. I was able to get one fairly cheap from eBay and have been using it ever since. After listening to some podcasts about different ideas about putter technology I have been thinking about changing to another Odyssey putter or possible a putter made by Heavy.
